Waqas is a graduate of GIKI with over half a decade of professional experience as an entrepreneur and software development consultant. He has worked both in leadership and consultancy roles for international startups. He currently works with Chess.com and helps in developing and improving their apps serving over 20 million users. Prior to joining Chess.com, Waqas cofounded IQFriends, a brain training app, which got incubated in Startup Brasil and China Accelerator and raised funding from Microsoft AppCampus and LAUNCHub Ventures. Waqas also founded Half Fried Games, a game studio based out of Peshawar, which worked on best selling games which were featured worldwide by Google Play And Apple Appstore. As a mentor at Peshawar 2.0—a social enterprise committed to rebranding Peshawar into a city of technology, design, and art, and Durshal—a network of coworking spaces and incubation programs by KPITB, Waqas helps in cultivating a culture of startups and entrepreneurship in KP. Waqas has mentored startups at Startup Weekend Peshawar, Startup Cup, and he has been ranked 4th most outstanding individual at WebSummit, Ireland.
