
Position: Financial Sector Specialist with the World Bank Group’s Finance
Sarmad Ahmed Shaikh is a Financial Sector Specialist with the World Bank Group’s Finance and Markets Global Practice. His work focuses on financial inclusion, credit infrastructure, insurance, and gender finance. Sarmad has over 8 years of experience in financial sector development and the private financial sector. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2012, Sarmad was working in the investment banking team at Citibank on a number of M&A, project finance and privatization transactions. Sarmad is a Fulbright Scholar, holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from Cornell University, and is currently enrolled in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.
