A well-respected telecom industry expert with a diverse portfolio comprising of corporate strategy, public sector policy-making, and people management, Salman has profound understanding of both local and global cellular & fixed line business dynamics at the industry as well as policy level. He has a proven track record of over 16 years of experience in strategy development and implementation in private and public sector organizations.
Salman, through holding leadership positions in leading telecom multinationals and at the government, has made key contributions to the regulatory and policy landscape in the industry such as conducting framework development and scenario analysis at Telenor Pakistan for the spectrum auctions in Pakistan; enabling Telenor LDI to become industry leader in the international traffic business; determining way forward for the launch of Pakistan’s first MFS initiative “Easypaisa”; and leading the “Mobiles for Birth Registration” (MBR) initiative.
Salman currently spearheads the digital public policy and regulatory function at Jazz. He is passionate about developing a policy level framework for Pakistan’s digitalization with an emphasis on public-private partnerships, to help materialize country’s national digital agenda in the long term.
