
Muhammad Waqas is a budding entrepreneur and the CEO and Co-founder of WonderTree. An Augmented Reality based startup working for the therapy and education of children with special needs. Through the use of technology Waqas, his co-founder Usman along with their passionate team want to redefine special education and therapy in the world making it cheaper, efficient and accessible to everyone.
In the two year that WonderTree has been operational, it has not only been able to change the lives of differently abled children and their families but also represent Pakistani startup ecosystem globally in a positive light. WonderTree was awarded the 3rd prize at GIST (Global Innovation through Science and Technology) 2016 at Stanford University a startup competition held between 1072 startups globally, they were the winners of APICA Award (Asia Pacific ICT Alliance) 2016 among all the asia pacific countries.
Before becoming an entrepreneur Waqas was a seasoned marketer having worked on some of the most prominent local and international brands in Pakistan like Ufone, USAID, Telenor, RedBull, Dettol and many more. He is also a Rotaract member and TEDx speaker.
Waqas is a devoted supporter of the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Pakistan, he believes in the talent, zest and creativity of Pakistanis and believes in the coming years we will be making a dent in the world.
Waqas is also a strong believer in the concept of “a good business” where a business can be profitable and have exponential growth and be doing something positive for the society. Waqas wants to prove this through his company WonderTree.
