
Mr. Amjad Arbab is a Senior Advisor to the World Bank on Youth and Entrepreneurship in Peshawar, Pakistan. Mr. Arbab also serves as Head of SBI Pakistan at ShoreBank International Ltd. Mr. Arbab is charged with overall responsibility for ShoreBank's technical and business development operations across the country, as well as within the broader region on a strategic basis. Mr. Abab is a long-standing friend and colleague to many at SBI, served as Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance Investment Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA), which has set the global standard for best-practice in developing an effective "capital plus" wholesale and technical assistance facility in the microfinance and SME arenas for post-conflict reconstruction. Mr. Arbab served as a Founding Member of the executive management team of the Bank of Khyber (BOK), where he also served in several executive roles including as strategic architect and Head of BOK's microfinance division in the mid-late 1990's. He serves as Director of BRAC Bank. Mr. Arbab also served in senior positions with the Agha Khan Rural Support Programme and the Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan. Mr. Arbab holds a Masters in International Relations from Johns Hopkins/SAIS as well as a Masters in Political Science from the University of Peshawar.
