
Omer Awan is an ICT4D and e/m- governance expert with more than 12 years of experience. He has managed various ICT4D and e/m-Governance related programs and projects of UN, Commonwealth Headquarters, World Bank and contributed to the strategies and programs for various Commonwealth countries. His work portfolio includes, National e/m Governance strategies, digital governance, digital inclusion, ICT4D (development), poverty reduction strategies, community development projects, Government Processes Reengineering (GPR) and capacity building initiatives. He has international and national experience of more than 25 technical assistance programmes, more than 30 community level projects. His contributions in strategy development, technical assistance programmes/projects and training include developing countries of Africa, Caribbean, Asia & Pacific regions. He has also represented Commonwealth Secretariat as panelist and speaker at various international forums & conferences.
Currently, Mr. Awan is working as Consultant in Pakistan Telecommunicaion Authority and providing his services for progam development and management of various initiatives in the thematic areas of Mobile4Women Entrereneruship, Mobile4Governeance & Development, Digital Inclusion etc
He is co-author of a book on ‘e/m- Governance’ along with other list of published articles. He is holding the degrees of MBA and MSc, in Poverty Reduction & Development Management from University of Birmingham, UK
