Dr. Rafi us Shan is serving as Assistant Professor at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology and heading Innovative Communication Technologies (ICT) research group. Mr. Shan received his PhD in Public Safety Communication Systems from Lancaster University, UK. Mr. Shan has worked with Cyber Security Center at Lancaster University for over 3 years and got an opportunity to work on various ETSI, FP-7 and TSB-UK funded projects during his stay in UK.
At COMSATS, Mr. Shan initiated MS in Cyber-Security program, which is first of its kind in Pakistan. Currently he is teaching information security management and ethical hacking. His research interests include privacy issues in mobile platforms, privacy and trustworthiness of social media contents and security frameworks.
Mr. Shan has been promoting and mentoring technology based startups for last 4 years in Abbottabad. He truly believes in transforming small and simple projects to a market worthy products. He has been working with various government departments for the promoting of information and communication technologies. Currently, he is assisting KPITB to promote early age programming in government schools across KP.
