I am a technology-driven entrepreneur, investor and advocate helping to build great companies such as: EarthLink (Early Employee) bGlobal Interactive (Founder), Direct Fresh (Co-Founder), 6Beyond (Investor) and several others. I have 20 years of leadership experience working with global Fortune 500 enterprises, C-level executives, start-ups and application developers in addition to extensive international experience building high performing companies and project teams in emerging markets, from concept to customer delivery. I have experience in entertainment, media, outsourcing, and consumer goods with an emphasis on ops/tech/product/marketing/strategy/corp development and partnerships. I am passionate about developing thriving businesses by identifying how technology can advance the bottom line.
In 2005, I moved to Asia and launched bGlobal Interactive where I currently serve as Managing Director. With just two employees and from very humble beginnings, bGlobal has flourished into one of Bangladesh's leading outsourcing companies, providing cost effective programming and interactive production services. bGlobal has managed to expand its operations from the United States to the Middle East, Europe, and South Asia servicing clients such as: Akamai, Tech Data Corp, GFI Software, NBCUniversal HBO and others.
The past 4 years, I co-founded a number of successful start-ups, including Direct Fresh Limited, which is Bangladesh’s leading premium online grocery store and B2B food supplier. Direct Fresh has grown into a house hold name within the affluent and upper classes of Bangladesh, has received local and international press and was one of a hand full of companies featured at the Google I/O Conference in 2014.
Leveraging bGlobal's technology expertise and team, I launched bGlobal Ventures a holding company which invests in both in-house products and projects as well as in entrepreneurs building new consumer products, services and emerging technologies. To date, the bGlobal Ventures portfolio includes a number of unique companies including: Reserved, Bongo (5X exit), WUF and 6Beyond, one of the first wearable application development companies in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Prior to founding bGlobal, I worked in strategic outsourcing for a leading Internet Service Provider, EarthLink, Inc. (NASDAQ: ELNK) During my tenure at EarthLink, I was responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and operational analysis of numerous outsourcing activities, including back office support functions, inbound and outbound call centers, and on-line sales units located in the Philippines, India, and domestic contact centers around the United States. I worked closely with companies such as West Corporation, Sprint, Cisco, Client Logic, Hughes, Avaya, Sitel and others.
Previous to joining EarthLink, I worked within the Entertainment industry for a leading post-production company, TOD-AO. I developed and grew an organization that focused on areas such as training, quality, systems, reporting, internal communications, and customer-relationship management.
I have a thorough understanding of emerging technology, Business Process Outsourcing, interactive marketing, call centers, and consumer goods. I have engaged in panels for a number of USAID/Red Cross funded partners in Bangladesh to further expand the Bangladesh outsourcing market. I am also a founding member and board member of the Bangladesh American Software Association (BASA) and also a committee member of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) focused on eLearning and eCommerce.
