Usman Khan is a creative entrepreneur from Peshawar. Starting his career right after graduation in 2012, Usman started his journey in pursuits of re-defining Peshawar as the Hub of innovation in creative digital services, software development and information technology. Being an avid designer himself Usman started an Interactive Media Studio by the name of Sweet Pixel Studio (http://www.sweetpixelstudio.com) back in 2012, Usman and his team’s dedication made SPS among the top performing start-ups not only in KP but throughout Pakistan. SPS not only raised seed round from a UK-based investor, it also went on to clock up seven figure revenues in its first couple of years.
With an aim to revive the creative economy, Usman went on to explore newer ventures which can put Pakistan on the map for creative services. One of the most neglected areas in Pakistan was the artisanal and handmade sector of Pakistan. Usman started Emperor’s Bazaar, an avant-garde online platform curating finest collections of Handmade, Bespoke and Luxury products throughout Pakistan (http://www.emperorsbazaar.com). Emperor’s Bazaar became a platform championing Pakistani Arts and Crafts and the brilliant artisans and craftsmen who make them.
Usman’s efforts in Emperor’s Bazaar were recognized both locally and internationally, including collaborations with UNESCO Pakistan, Invest2Innovate, and Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2016. Moreover, he was also selected as one of the Emerging Leaders of Pakistan by the Atlantic Council and US Embassy. Usman is among one of the most notable entrepreneurs in the KP region, not only because of his diverse ventures but also because of his resilience and a push to promote Pakistan on every national and International Forum.
Usman is also collaborating with The World Bank under Digital Youth Summit 2017 by having his start-up operate as a Key Sponsor as well as a Community Partner in helping them raise awareness.
