VPPD: Open data is the future. More data is produced globally in the last two years than in the previous 3000 years of humans activity. Most of this data is openly accessible. Therefore, the future challenge for decision-makers is not finding data: the challenge is efficiently managing and digesting an explosion of public data. Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are no exception. The Virtual Platform for Peace and Development is our response to the challenge. The Virtual platform will collect open data and visualize and analyze this data in a useful way for goverment decision makers. At its core: the platform will equip KP decision makers with a new set of “eyes and ears” to explore data that usually already exists, but that was at a practical level, hard to use. This can help make better decisions and policies.
